Moments ago, I was accosted and denied access to my room by the Manager on duty...well, she told the reception staff not to give me my room key. Her reason: I used the body towel to clean my shoes. Her attempt to embarrass me by brandishing the supposed "body towel" jolted my memory and I recalled that that was the floor towel left by the housekeeping staff.
All my effort to explain this, stating that my shoes were made of cloth and I didn't even clean them fell on deaf ears. She said I was lying and I would have to pay for the towel. I was not given my room keys. hence compelling my compliance.
I asked to speak to the housekeeping staff that cleaned yesterday and the one that clean and perhaps raised the complaint to join us at the reception, as all this was quite confusing. When they joined us, I asked if there was a second towel in the room when they cleaned and where the towel was....he said it was in the room and he had taken it out already.
The Manager, realizing I was telling the truth, said " you can go, Sir". All this for a room riddled with Mosquitoes and where the ACs have no remote control and can only be used for half of the day. Not even a proper apology, but just plainly dismissive.
I shouldn't be called a liar or ridiculed over something I did not do, and by someone who does not have the decency of apologizing when she realized her mistake.
