Hall 1 (Queen Idia Hostel)

Hall 1 accommodates only girls...it has a common room and reading room for the students...the rooms are small and jam-packed with 6 sixs but this is better than hall 2 that occupies 8 girls to a room.There is a light routine, on Mondays to Fridays there is usually light from 4pm to 9am while an weekends there is light 24hrs... also keep in mind that sometimes there are water scarcities and the bathroom and toilet is not very friendly...at first you will hate it but humans adapt right?? I would have love to add pictures but they are enough pictures already

It's not so hygienic but it's better than hall 2. Toilets are no go areas with growing algae everywhere. Soakaways are almost collapsing and flyovers are shaking. The hostel needs thorough renovation. Thanks

This is one of the hostels at University of Benin. I won't say it's perfect for an ideal hostel; six persons to a small space, not enough space for those six individuals and their items, no fan or air condition, wardrobes are available for only four persons. The rooms are so hot during the day and packed full because of the limited space. The bathrooms and toilets are clean but most people use other means.

The common room is equipped with a television - barely functional. Then, the popular reading room which is good in my opinion. The service from the stores is quite poor.

I think the university could have done a far better job for the comfort of the students.

Hall 1 aka queen Idia Hostel is one of the most foremost hostel in the university of Benin. It is dedicated to the female as residence. It is a three storey building ???? with each floor having bed spaces of not less than 150. It has dedicated porters and other staff members running the activities of the hostel to ensure sanity.

It's one of the female hostels of UNIBEN, its facilities are not convenient, especially the bathroom and toilet. It's manageable but you won't feel comfortable using it.
Most students apply for school hostels because it's usually cheaper than renting a room off campus. If you're someone who likes your privacy, this place is not for you as you'll be sharing the room with about 6 (I'm not too sure about the accurate number) other person sometimes even more!

Not the best of hostel facilities, but it is necessary as it inhabits majority of the female hostel dweller population... It's facilities and equipment are old and worn out...
The shear unusable nature of their toilet facilities makes the inhabitants deficate in little polythene bags and toss across the hostel walls...
It is a great place to be if you desire company, sisterhood, noise and community life..

One of the regular category Hostel for female students of the university of Benin. Organized and spacious and secured environment. 8 blocks of hostel lettered A-H and accomodating an estimate of about 1400 students. Strictly females only. A bit overpopulated but still okay.
