We've stayed at Baptist many times over many years, before and after the extensive renovations. On the Pros side, it is fairly quiet, clean, comfortable, and secure. On the Cons, like most hotels in Nigeria, plumbing fixtures and furnishings are broken and battered, services are limited, and the restaurant has spotty hours, opening far too late in the morning. The dinner food is delicious although limited to semo and a couple of soups. Being kind to the cook will make all the difference. All in all, it's a good place to spend a night when you're passing through or on business. It's not a resort or a place to vacation.
