Same structure and layout as other Protea Hotel by Marriot, however not necessarily same good / high quality level of service nor maintenance.
There are no wardrobes in the room....just a corner with shelves u0026 a safe on 1 of them; the opposite side has non-removable hangers for clothes.
The rug in both rooms i checked looked tattered at the edges and I had to change my room because of the horrible noise from the air conditioner in the initial room I was checked into.
I lodged there for 2 nights and there was electricity cutout more than 15 times both evenings....one of the times, there was blackout for about 5mins and the rooms don't have emergency / rechargeable lights.....i had to call my colleague with my mobile phone to get across to the Sales Manager to complain as I didn't have his number ????
The room service is quite slow and you'd need to be patient both when you phone them (had to call atleast 2x before its picked a couple of times) and after placing your order too. On the flip side, I got my fried plantain replaced when I complained the portion initially served was too soft.
Unfortunately, it's literally still the best hotel in Owerri as others aren't good....and it's most definitely the most expensive @ N52,000+ per night.

Everything about the hotel is good, I mean everything, except Access bank ATM machine, please don't use the ATM machine if it traps your card you will regret it.

Even if you transfer the money into another account immediately the card will be used by people that have access to it(fraud). My experience was not good. DONT use access bank ATM at Protea Hotel Owerri. Thanks.

I went there for diner with the family and I loved it especially their affordable yet sophisticated buffet food offer. It was a memorable experience for my taste buds as I tried out different cuisines.

Declining service levels, booking issues, the hotel needs to do more to manage their success. But still a good place to stay at owerri (lovely restaurant and food)

Very clean, simple and nice. However they need to deal with dampness on the walls and ceilings. It's making a mess of the interiors
