Unarguably the biggest, and most organised market in Benue state.
It has virtually all sections you can find in a typical open market in Nigeria,; wet section, whole sale, retail, building materials, even tailors and seamstresses.

It also has a police station and a non functional fire department.
There are public restrooms, but you have to pay to use them, and its a pit latrine arrangement, but its modernised with enamel ware.

Due to lack of proper maintenance, the market is always dirty and the main driveway id always flooded during the rains

Very organised, and has been in existence since the 90s apparently. I considered it to be till date one of the most organised markets I have ever been to in the county. Prices are commendable and location of things easy to find.

Modern Market is the biggest market in Makurdi. The market has a well structured/built entry and exit gate (what I call a mini toll gate). There's usually little or no traffic in the market, unlike every other Nigerian market.

They sell more of modern things to food stuffs.
The market is well structured. There is a different section (separated by fence) for grocery market there, only food stuffs and food related items are sold in that part.
While things like fabrics, clothing, accessories, bed, tailors, water tanks, buckets, drums, Electronics, household u0026 interior, building materials, etc are what you find in the main market.

There are different lines/sections for each categories of things. For example, you can barely find tailors in the line/sections where they sell buckets. But you'll usually find tailors where they sell fabrics or beddings.

The superstores/market located in the market sells at average/reasonable prices.

When I first went to the market, I went with my friend (we where both new to the place), after buying what we went to buy, we decided to take a bus going our way, we where cheated by the bus conductor (we paid x2 of the usually money) cos we actually didn't know the route.

Modern market is a nice place to shop for everything aside food stuff because the cost of food item is high compared to other market like Wurukum Market and Wadata Market.

Least I forgot, Modern market is the neatest market in Makurdi, the market is really, really, really fine, its not like the usual dirty Nigerian market.

The renovation of the entry gate, creating a passage entry way for two cars in quite impressive, but I don't think that's a completely good move, due to lack of staff at the gates, I do hope that the renovation of the market will be extended to the roads withing the market tho, much love to all those working there

It's a big market where distributors, wholesalers and retailers are there in their numbers. Just that the market is gradually returning back to shape after the last fire incident

Modern market is organized a bit, it's easy to ask your way around, although getting stuffs like electronics is impossible, also, the environment is unkept!

a nice place with good manner arrangement
but the management is lacking a little maintenance management
the kids ground has been converted to shops to let
and the street light is down for years
the original structural water system is not working
but they is fire extinguisher in some part of the market
taxi is always available
tricycle, and motorcycle have their own parking line
one among the most important stuff is that the emergency alarm is working.
