I had heard the name of this place mentioned many times over the years but I had never been here or knew its exact location.

However, this mystery was completely unravelled at the end of June 2022 after a long days drive through Lagos traffic with an old friend. This friend had lived and worked in area and said we should stop by Chadon and get something to eat as we had not eaten all day.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was a building I had passed many times while looking for short cuts through Mende.

The restaurant was reasonably laid out. They had a menu but I was not feeling adventurous so I ordered jellof rice and chicken and made a special request for dodo. They did not have dodo but said they will send someone out to buy and I would only have to wait a little longer. My friend ordered pounded yam and egusi soup.

The food came and the rice was spicy but one serving was not going to take care of me. So I asked for an extra plate with was an additional N500.

The staff were friendly but could have been nicer in dealing with less friendly customers and also quieter while dealing with their internal work issues.

I totally love their meals -- you'll get great value for the money you pay for them.

The environment is clean and the service is superb.

I do wish, though, that they had a service where one could order in advance. It takes a little while for the food (a la carte) to be ready, and sometimes I need to just grab something and dash off to my next appointment.

On somedays, they were at their best and on some other days, they didn't meet up to expectation

The food was horrible. The ogbono was too watery and tasteless.

Chandon kitchen is a nice place to be for low and high cadre guest, neat rooms, warm reception and restaurant, give it a trial.

Their local dishes are really tasty, I had pounded yam and edikaikong which was so yummy???? Staff are polite as well. They also have rooms available for lodging.
