Before this,I have never been to Kano!

And i am soooo happy I did,i had fun at the beautiful market in Kwari then I went to za museum.

The history lesson, made me see Nigeria from a different point of view

Built in 1440 and still standing tall. Incredible!!
Great place to learn about KANO’s rich cultural heritage and history. No entry fee required but you may have to tip the tour guide afterwards. It’s not a very big place so shouldn’t time to go round.

Neat Environment, but lacks artifact to be exactly described as a museum.
looks more like a picture/cultural exhibition center.
The Nigerian Government should try stocking it up with rare and precious Nigeria artifact and historical objects.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour here. Many of the artefacts and monument have been well preserved.

Gidan makama museum is one of the ancient building here in Kano, Kano state, Nigeria. Gidan makama is a building in which objects (cultural materials of the ancient people of kano) of artistic, cultural, historical or scientific interest are kept and shown to the people (public) and is located at the central city of Kano, Kano municipal local government area.

It’s a great historical building where arts and craft are kept.it has its galleries where histories about Kano..(culture and way of life).it’s situated close to the Emirs palace..
