Please tour with vehicles as the land mass is too much to be trekked. Several structures like Church, schools, laundry house, Children fun centre, wildlife, event centres, Library itself, Bamboo groove, Resorts etc.

Now, this is a resort!
One can comfortably stay in this place for one whole month without stepping out of the premises.

The only things missing in this place are a local market and a school.

For a place this big, it is clean.

I'm not an architect or surveyor, so I can't give an estimate of the mass on which this resort sits but this place can comfortably take 5,000 guests (I may be grossly underestimating).

The name - Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) doesn't prepare a guest for what the unassuming gate/entrance opens one to. No gate/entrance fee at the main gate.

There is a hotel in this premise (quite big - looked like it had about 50 - 100 rooms). Room rates are 45k and above! Bonus point - The hotel has rooms for personal drivers and other support staff that travel with their bosses. The furniture in the reception screams HERITAGE! There is a spa, salon, gym and meeting halls/rooms inside the hotel buildings)

There is a pool very close to the hotel/lodge.

There is a Lawn Tennis Court too!

There are 2 event centres (marquees/tents) - a small one that can take about 700 people and a bigger one.

There is a Church.

There is a mosque.

There is a wild life park - closes at 7pm and requires an entrance fee of 1000 Naira.

There is a water body on which boat rides can be done. A ride goes for 1000Naira for two trips round the water body.

There is a museum - closes at 5pm

There is a Recording Studio ???? and a Cinema!

The Library is massive - couldn't go in because I got there after 5pm which is when the library closes.

There is a rock inside this place too, and guess what? There is a bush bar in the top of the rock! It gives a view of a part of the city - beautiful!

Children are not left out - There is an Amusement Park!!!

There is a Bamboo Grove for the Jaiye Jaiye folks!!!

Last but not the least, and perhaps, the icing on the cake for me - The Book/Souvenir Shop!..... Customised OOPL souvenirs and pretty Made In Nigeria educational pieces.

Everybody who visits Abeokuta should definitely visit this place!

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library is the first of its kind owned by any Nigerian and African President. The name library could mislead you into thinking of it as a normal or conventional library.
It is not.
You are taken on a tour of his life; family background, upbringing, schooling, career and achievements as former Military Head of State (1976-1979) and President (1999-2007). The library houses some of the former President's most treasured personal materials, documents and gifts of state during his tenure as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I must say that the former President is good at keeping records, some dating as far back as 60 to 70 years. I concluded my visit by taking pictures on the chair and desk he used as President between 1999 and 2007.
There is also a Presidential museum containing vehicles (Beetle car, Popemobile and bicycle) used by him as Head of State and President.
Apart from the pictures taken at his desk, picture taking is not permitted within the library and museum.
The library and museum are of historical significance and truly worth the visit.

I love the view and the sight is so beautiful.

Obasanjo is such a visionary person and having this in the heart of Abeokuta is such a beautiful thing.

I wasn’t able to enter the library and tour because I am not with a tour guide. But we visited the bookshop.

There’s also a boat ride option here. Electric boat ride. Better don’t waste your money here ????.

I had an experience that will leave a lasting impression on me.
Olusegun obasanjo presidential library(OOPL as it's popularly called) is more than a library. It's a museum, amusement park and a fully-fledged resort.
First thing first, you are not allowed to use your own camera within the library. However, you csn hire their in-house photographer. The final product would be nice although the pictures will be watermarked.
The complex is a very large expanse of land that houses a couple of entities such as :
1. The oopl library/museum building
2. The green legacy resort hotel
3. Oowp olusegun obasanjo wildlife park
3. Chalets
4. A cinema
5. Modern car wash
6. A church
7. Mosque.
8. Multiple event centre's
9.a club house and lounge
10. A lake for boat ride
11. Bamboo groove where you can get fresh palmwine
12. Multiple event halls and so on.

I will discuss the things I personally enjoyed on my trip.
First and foremost, the library is a first of its kind and your journey starts from the entrance where you will be introduced to the followings:
1. Baba obasanjo's bicycle
2. His Volkswagen beetle car as a military head of state.
3. The helicopter he imported so that our naf personnel can be trained locally
4. The presidential bullet proof car that he first used as the civilian president and so on.

Moving to the main library, you will be introduced to the plethora of awards that were received by baba both as president and after office.
Secondly, you will be cited while baba welcomes you to the library officially via a recorded video.
From there the tour proper will begin in earnest. The tour guide would introduce you to the various books written by obj, his YOLA prison, his family background, children, his traveling across the globe and so on.

My favorite moment was when I sat on the chair that Is a replica of the one in Aso took some nice pictures.

The hotel was running on a promo when I visited so the standard room cost #38,000 while the deluxe cost #45,000

One review cannot cover everything. However, I really enjoyed myself with the palmwine, at the wildlife park, in the library, cinemas and so on.

It's a fun park for Children and adult, it has amazing features like Cinéma, boat ride, zoo and lots more, it's located around NNPC Abeokuta. Using the facilities comes with some little charges
