This hospital used to be known as the Braithwaite Memorial Hospital. Recently renamed as the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital. It has been renovated and looks very neat from the outside. It is a very big hospital with specialists in almost all fields of medicine. It is usually crowded and one needs to go there early if you want to be attended to. It is a government hospital so typically affordable however, alot needs to be done to improve the wait time.

Now known as Rivers State Teaching Hospital. This place is crawling with people and unprofessional doctors. Pardon my language but I did not have a good experience when I went there to treat myself. The laissez-faire attitude of the doctors(in training) was so appalling. I immediately wished I went to a private hospital...

Please note that my experience might not be the same as everyone but I definitely would not be treating a life threatening illness there

The name of the hospital was Braithwaite memorial specialist hospital popularly known by the people in Rivers State is BMH. However recently the name has been changed from the Braithwaite memorial specialist hospital to Rivers State University teaching Hospital. Well it's somewhat a big hospital that houses various departments such as a microbiology chemistry hepatology and biochemistry which are basically for running of various tests. Recently the facility has been renovated and everything looks nice and new but I think they need to be improvement on service delivery

Very negligent and rude staff. Poor medical service too. Never go there if you want quality service.
