The university community have experienced quietness for more than two months now due to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). All places are empty and businesses are shut down for all this while.

Indeed, a place, no matter how big and well structured it is, if there are no people, then it is not worth living in.

The strike is really telling on the whole community as life itself is moody in Maiduguri.... please Federal Govt send ASUU should come to terms

A Federal University with 17 Faculties, 89 Departments and 127 Programmes. It has a School of Postgraduate Studies offering postgraduate programmes. There is also an institute of Education, Business School and a Centre for Distance Learning. The Remedial Programme prepares students for admission to the various undergraduate courses. The affiliate college gives affiliation to non-degree awarding tertiary institutions to run courses towards award of degree and postgraduate degree programmes.

It is located along Bama Road, with a student population of over 70,000. Beautiful scenery with abundant trees to give it a natural cooling even during the hot summer season.

It has sporting facilities that meets international standards such as the swimming pool and indoor sports hall.
