Visited to see the historic Maiduguri Central Mosque, Borno State. Very artistic and magnificent. Located beside the Shehu of Borno Palace stands this gigantic beauty. The dome is wonderfully shaped. The area is just full of life notably with the Eid Mubarak. Lots of children and family trooping here to have a great time and spend the holiday.

It's indeed a place of worship for the Muslims in Borno State.

My experience with this mosque:
It was sometime in 1998 when my father was driving us to school, we asked him when shall the building of this mosque be completed and his response was "you'll complete your secondary school by 2004 and this mosque will not be completed".

Until 20 years later, the mosque has been completed and opened.

Better late than never!

One of the largest mosques in Nigeria. A great place to visit if you are in Maiduguri.

Don't forget to say hi to the Shehu of Borno.

Visit this Masjid for your Friday congregational prayer one day.
