Grand Central Hotel Kano

In case anyone is wondering about the reviews being either very good or very bad.... The thing is Grand Central hotel has two sections and I happen to have stayed in both. In the main (new) building is fantastic and presentable, lovely rooms. Clean and cosy. I truly enjoyed my stay there.
While the anexx (old) is terrible, old and dirty...I spent one night and there was no water in the tap, I had to beg the staff to get me a bucket of water to use, the AC was not cooling and was leaking, the bathroom door does not close, the sheets were old and the walls were stained. I had to stay there that night because they were fully booked and likewise other hotels in town.
The staff are quite nice and try their best.
The management needs to sit up and do something about that annexe. It's shameful.
My advice? Please confirm where your allocated room is, if it's the new section with the lift.... Enjoy a pleasant stay.
If it's the old section.... Please run for your life!

Had a terrible experience here. The toilets are old, the ceiling is almost falling off, had an air-conditioning that was gushing out water. Sleeping at night was practically impossible as the mosquitoes were living with me in the room. I was supposed to stay for 4 nights but due to my experience, I was forced to check out the next morning as I couldn't bear the discomfort.

Poor customer service skills, aged facilities, unkempt rooms, quite expensive for a low quality accommodation. Mosquito filled restaurant with poor turn around time. There are lots of potentials that can still be derived if handled by an efficient management team.

I'm very confused as to why the ratings are so high compared to the quality of the rooms. The accommodations are very old, there are stains and holes on the bedsheets, bathroom conditions are bleak, shower door did not close, and overall the rooms did not feel clean.

The staff are okay but the facility is terrible, especially if you're not from Kano, frequent power outage with no back up, terrible maintenance with mold in some places, and a ton of mosquitoes especially for the regular rooms. Terrible experience I'm not going back there again.

Is a hotel that has a conducive environment and the room are partially ok because they need so many amendments and so also theirs services.

I’m looking for a meeting hall to book so i came to see the review, but with poor reviews like this, I’m not sure. I’m disappointed that a lot of people had bad experience. I think the management have a lot of sitting up to do, else you’ll keep loosing customers
