It has expense of lands and it is a boarding school housing both teachers and students. It is easily accessible by road as it is located just adjacent to the State General Hospital.

They have a very wide compound, a sports arena, mini-stadium, boarding facilities, large classrooms and laboratories. The location is Central and very easy to navigate. It's a girls only secondary school. It was the first girls only secondary school in Northern Nigeria named after England's Queen Elizabeth who visited around the time the school was built. Students come from all over Nigeria.

Queen Elizabeth School Ilorin is located on a large expanse of land at the centre of Ilorin town just at the gateway roundabout. This only girls secondary school used be a standard setter for girl education before neglect took the shine out of the school. The emergence of quality private school within the city further eroded her influence.
