My experience at IITA was amazing. Starting from my first day up until my last night. I’m not sure the difference between the IITA Hotel, and IITA Ibadan, as I’d already left my review on there.
However, I lodged in the double AC room for six nights. This means double bed with one AC. There was a balcony in my room, which made the whole experience, beautiful. I worked from the balcony once, and started working from the snack bar and other places afterwards.
There’s a lot to do here when you come. I came alone because I wanted some time to myself, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
There’s a complementary breakfast every morning from 6 to 8:30AM. Sometimes, breakfast goes on until 9 or past 9. Dinner is at the snack bar. I must say I didn’t have a great experience with dinner, because I kept having the same food - Basmati rice with chick peas. The Jollof rice wasn’t great when I had it, which was also the same thing I experienced my first time here in June. I could taste the spice in the rice. On my last night, they flunked my order at the Snack bar. I ordered my usual order -Basmati rice with Chick Peas sauce, and the meal they brought didn’t taste like it. The rice was soggy and tasted very regular, and the chick peas was more sweet corn, baked beans in ketchup than chick peas. For a meal that expensive, I should have gotten more than a sorry. Also, my heater didn’t work on the last night, and I had to boil water with an electric kettle the house keeper brought to my room.
My last night wasn’t fun, but the other experiences made everything worthwhile.
I recommend walking through the residential driveway, and going to the lake, the pond. There are many sights you’ll want to see.
Also, I want to mention that the clinic is expensive. Consultation fees was $60, but I guess it’s because if the sort of clientele they serve. I recommend they partner with health insurance companies to lessen the burden of having to spend a lot on medical fees for natives.
I would visit again.
