With a name like Samsy Luxury Hotel it can be quite misleading as you would expect a very upscale establishment but it is just a notch above average.
The location is very good, inside GRA, Benin beside a major Police formation. That gives a sense of security. Then it is surrounded by a few lounges, restaurants and bars, makes for adequate "chilling" and stuff.
The staff I interacted with were quite nice and polite.
The exterior could do with a facelift and a few of the facilities could use some maintenance however, the power is constant as the back up generator kicks in as soon as public supply goes off and you can still enjoy the AC. The room I stayed in was very cold. The bed was super comfy though the beddings were starting to show threadbare signs and wear. The room also had different mood lighting modes, from very bright, for serious work, to cool and low lighting.
The hot water was adequate and the pressure was high. The closet space was sufficient and nicely laid out as well.
The bathroom had a few broken items. Still baffles me how guests break stuff in the bathrooms, towel rack, soap dish, shower curtain etc. There was no shower curtain so there was always water on the floor after use. No towel rack either but you can see the broken stumps of where they used to be.
The pricing was reasonable and due to the location it is always busy and full. You might want to consider booking ahead.
