The first restaurant that I was introduced to when I came to Nigeria was Portofino, so it was my first experience with authentic Nigerian food.
Don’t get me wrong, I grew up on Nigerian cooking, but that was my mother and she’s a great cook. I will admit that I’ve gone to this restaurant several times and will probably continue going until I find a better alternative. It’s more out of habit and lack of options and not because I enjoy it. Trust, me when I find enough restaurants to venture to, this one will be a thing of the past. Having said that, not everyone will agree with me because there’s always costumers at this restaurant.
My least favorite item on their menu is their rice. If I were to recommend anything on their menu, it would be their fish. You can almost never go wrong with sweet plantains as well. Their restaurant is clean, there’s enough seating encase you want to sit and eat. The customer service is not bad by Nigerian standards. They also have a bakery next door that I will talk about in my next post. That rice dropped down the rating, I’ve tried all three of their rice.
