The museum was named after the famous Kuti family in NEPA Road, Abeokuta. It is the house where the matriarch of the family, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti who was also the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria. The house contains pictures of the life history of the family and the old house was maintained.
The house was built with wood and the wood is maintained by the Ogun state government.
The house looks clean and well maintained.
Though the day I went there, there was no one there so we could not have a guide to show around.
It's really a place people should see as part of Nigeria's history.

It was beautiful knowing about the Kuti heritage, however so much needs to be done to show how important that family has been to the history of Nigeria

I went to my hometown Abeokuta, for the Eid holiday.Whilst deliberating on where to hangout,a friend of mine informed me about The Kuti Heritage Museum;then I decided to go visiting in the company of my friends.

It is the monumental home of the Ransome-Kutis of Abeokuta. The historical edifice was given a facelift by the Ogun State government, then converted into a Museum some years back,in honour of the Kuti family and also to preserve their legacy.

After touring the building, there's a garden at the backyard where you can have drinks and grill with your friends and family in a very serene and low-noise setting.

Located on Nepa road, Isabo Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria.

Kuti heritage museum used to be the home of the famous afro beat legend Fela Anikulapo kuti.

Built in the 1930s, the edifice preserves some of the belongings of the kuti's including chief Mrs Fumilayo Ransom Kuti's Car.

The museum holds rich history and information about the prominent family that once lived in it. The museum compound also houses a restaurant and an open air bar with an afrobeat live band.

It's such a beautiful place to visit and a great experience.

The Kuti Heritage Museum is actually the home of the well known Kuti family. Yes, the popular Fela and Mama Olufunmilayo's home. The place stands in a very nice environment. And there are your guides available to take around the building. It's a really nice vintage home. And there is also a provision for you and your family or friends to sit, eat and gist after or before going on the walk around the building. Plus, mama funmilayo's first car is still in the compound. Remember, she was stated to be the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria.

Nice to view the Ransome Kuti family heritage, the Kuti parents, both father mother were quite important, well educated and successful. Although Funmilayo Ransome Kuti was more popular. The building and artifacts needs a bit of maintenance and preservation otherwise it will begin to fall apart.
