Centenary Hall- Abeokuta

The structure is still in good shape but needs some maintance. The hall is dated 1830 it has always been used for meetigs and other events. Till today according to the people we met there it can still be rented out. It has a main stage and serveral stairways leading to the second level. The Main hall area has pictures of the accient traditional rulers and Oba's mother hanging on the wall.

This is a nice historic place in Egba Land built in 1930 to commemorate the existence of Egba centenary celebration.

Centenary hall. Historical building that holds a lot of history inside. Fascinating impresarios. It is located at the southern part of Abeokuta. And directly opposite Ake Palace (the kingdom of the highest monarch in Egbaland). Now used as a court of adjudication.

A wonderful heritage site but unfortunately, I didn't see any traces of maintenance to keep the structure solid and befitting for tourist attraction except for the exterior yellow painting. From my understanding, it's a celebratory hall built in 1930 to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of Abeokuta city in 1830. I love the concept behind it and the structure stands alone with relics and portraits of past influential leaders of the egbaland on display along the walls of the hall.

It was just OK... Requires a full clean up with AC. Those long fans used in churches of old don't cut it anymore

We were going to Centenary Hall Plaza in Sagamu and erroneously inputted Centenary Hall Abeokuta. That's how we ended up here. Lol! I took the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of Abeokuta. This hall looked unkempt on the outside. No parking space within it. There were a few men sitting on the stairs gisting. More like miscreants/homeless. They looked 'friendly' though. I got to find out this place is supposed to be a historical spot.
